Lost Season, 2020-22.
Paintings, digital prints, wall sculptures.
The title of the exhibition "Lost Season” expresses metaphorically a mentally transitional space-time. A period of reconstruction and readjustment. This creation of an artificial temporal void allows me to develop some form of resistance before accepting the change of a world through rapid technological development that creates a new holistic environment in which the concept of technology becomes increasingly intangible and abstract.
I wonder if I will ever be able to accept the human mind as a form of machine, my thoughts as algorithms, my actions expressed in verbs from the terminology of the internet, my identity as a future simulation in a computer program.
I am concerned with how we will coexist in the future with all forms of cyborgs and how our relationship with them will change our psychosynthesis and physicality.
In my artistic practice I follow a free and subconscious design process, the spaces are imaginary while nature is rendered semiotically.
Through the gesture of painting which is a slow, analogical and psychosomatic process I express my desire to offer the viewer the time required to connect emotionally or even develop an aesthetic and less threatening relationship with the image of the artificial.
